Affiliate & Advertising Disclosure

Dump the Pump is free to use. We cover our costs with ads and affiliate links — and we'd rather just tell you exactly how, because it never changes the numbers the calculator shows you.

Affiliate links

Some outbound links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and take an action — get an insurance quote, start a loan application, or buy a vehicle or product — we may earn a commission or referral fee, at no extra cost to you. These include the "shop this EV," insurance, financing, and home-charger links in our buy-box, which connect to partners and networks such as Carvana (via Impact), Insurify, myAutoloan, and Amazon. Affiliate links are marked with rel="sponsored" and open in a new tab.

Amazon Associates

Dump the Pump is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases.

Advertising

We also display ads through Google AdSense and may use other ad vendors. How those ads use cookies and data — and how to opt out of personalized advertising — is described in our Privacy Policy.

Our independence

This is the important part: affiliate and advertising relationships do not influence the calculator. The efficiency figures, prices, and savings math are based on public data and our own estimates — not on who pays us. We don't rank or recommend a vehicle because a partner pays more, and a commission never changes the result you see. The figures are typical estimates for guidance; always confirm with your own numbers before making a purchase.

Why we disclose this

Because you deserve to know, and because the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) requires sites to disclose material connections — like affiliate commissions — clearly and conspicuously. If anything here is unclear, email ownership@dumpthepump.net.
